During Festival of Whales, Dana Point

Children ages 11 and under dig for treasure, toys, and prizes. Participants pay $10 for a special Treasure Hunt shovel and get ready to dig for treasure!

This event (formerly known as the Diamond Dig) is sponsored by the Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club and all proceeds benefit local children’s charities.

Join our Monarch Beach Sunrise Rotary Club for our annual Little Pirates Treasure Hunt at Dana Point Harbor! The Treasure Hunt during the Dana Point Festival of the Whales at Baby Beach starts at 11:00 AM and goes to Noon.

This event raises money for the various Children’s Charities Rotary supports around the world. Helpers include members of the Dana Hills Interact Club .

The Dana Point Festival of Whales is an ocean-friendly event with many booths, displays and exhibits being very close to the waters edge. Visitors and participants will have access to a universe of knowledge and know-hows on how to keep the ocean free of pollution and garbage that is ruining the sea life.

Activities are scheduled to both entertain and educate the participants and to encourage them to be more conscious about their acts in respect to Mother Nature. There are multiple parking lots throughout the Festival.

Park free for up to 4 hours in some Harbor lots. Please remember, 4 hours maximum in these lots. All parking lots are monitored by Orange County Sheriff’s Department so please do check your watch when you park and keep an eye on the time. Some lots require parking fees.

Park at Doheny State Beach ALL day or for $3 per hour with a $6 minimum payable at automated pay machines/kiosks located in the parking lots. Hourly parking rates at Doheny State Beach are available at the numerous automated payment machine kiosks located throughout the park.
